First Post, Go…

Having decided to dip my toes back into the world of blogging after a hiatus of several years, I find myself sitting here wasting time trawling through Adobe’s stock images for the above picture, rather than doing any actual writing.

Par for the course I suppose! Procrastination is such a common trait amongst “we” writers don’t you think? (Note to self: must look that word up someday!)

So what DO I write about?

Perhaps it’s worth defining what I want to get out of this platform. Anything just to get me out of the starting blocks!

Dabbler

I’ve dabbled at blogging several years ago; both professionally — on the subject of SEO and personally, on the subject of caravanning around the UK where I live. Talk about diverse ends of the spectrum!

You can’t just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood. What mood is that? Last-minute panic.

Bill Watterson

The first was a means to an end for something called “content marketing” or some other guff, whilst the latter was just a bit of fun that appealed to the average caravanning enthusiast. On both fronts I found the process somewhat satisfying I must admit.

Despite the quip above, I don’t class myself as a writer or even a blogger! Just someone looking for a place for expression and on this occasion I’ve chosen WordPress once again.

Will my scribblings be good enough to maintain not only my own attention, but yours – my new readers? Time will tell!

Ultimately, I’m writing for my own benefit, a sort of cathartic process to help me cope with life for a while. If I do pick up a few followers along the way, then all the better.

Let’s see how I get on. Roll on post number two.
